PROMAX provides technology to the Africa Cup of Nations
The biggest sporting event on the African continent has trusted PROMAX to distribute the signal of the Africa Cup’s football matches that have taken place in Equatorial Guinea, in the cities of Malabo and Bata.
The images and contents of the international press centre, which have been distributed to the whole world, have been processed with the DTTV head-end and several encoders like the HDMI™, SD-SDI and HD-SDI.
All video formats have been made available to hundreds of journalist’s workstations that covered the event.
Installing the DTTV head-end by technical staff using the PROMAX TV EXPLORER HD.
The PROMAX technical equipment provided to this international event was the DT-504 COFDM distribution system for the DTTV head-end and several EN-264 high definition signal encoders with SD-SDI and HD-SDI inputs.
Signals were obtained from the mobile stations scattered throughout the stadium and they were received via microwave links.
Video signals from all cameras in the conference rooms were also distributed by means of COFDM modulators.
All signals have been multiplexed and distributed among the hundreds of televisions at the press centres in the cities of Malabo and Bata. Any journalist has been able to access any content with a simple change of programme.
