2 years of experience in DVB-T2 go a long way

Much has happened since two years ago when we started the development of our measurement system for DVB-T2 to go on the TV EXPLORER HD+ range. The operators have relied heavily on our products to deploy their broadcast networks and as a result of our partnership new features come to life that everyone will be able to enjoy now. Two years go far indeed.

COFDM over the Fiber

In applications where it is necessary to transport the RF signal over long distances, from one point to another, coaxial cable is not a suitable solution. Thanks to the DT-610 module it is now possible to easily transmit the DVB-T (COFDM) channels generated by the Digital To TV headend over a FO cable covering distances of up to 10km.

Dynamic echoes analysis

There are many situations in which the presence of echoes can degrade or severely affect reception of DTT. The installer exposed to them can only play with the location and orientation of the antennas in order to minimize the negative impact that these echoes can have on signal reception. The dynamic analysis of echoes, made in the way the PROMAX field strength meters do, happens to be nowadays an essential function.

With the last software version, SATHUNTER+ and SATHUNTER are now easier to use

You can download right now the new software version for free for the SATHUNTER and SATHUNTER+ , This software gives numerous improvements to the Satellite Hunter. Thanks to the new navigation system now it is faster to scroll between the detection points (TP) that can pre-configured by the user (up to 50) and it is also easier to recognize satellites and to guide the satellite dish.

TV EXPLORER HD ISDB-T/T_B: High Definition TV meter

PROMAX, at the forefront in implementing new technology, sets very high standards with this new field strength meter designed to meet the demand of the Brazilian and Japanese market. PROMAX has contributed in the deployment of this standard by developing the TV EXPLORER HD ISDB-T/T_B that, like the other members of the family TV EXPLORER, is characterized as the most compact and complete field meter in the market.

Optical LNBs with TV EXPLORERs

The optical LNBs combine the four band/polarization feeds together into a single RF signal in the frequency range from 0.95 to 5.45 GHz. The RF signal is then converted to optical with a laser and transmitted over the fibre optic cable. All meters in the TV EXPLORER family can now work with optical LNBs using the new CV-100 Optical to RF signal adapter.

Television distribution at the Westminster Live studios

To distribute all the channels, which are usually received via satellite, the Westminster Live studios work with the Digital To TV (DTTV) headend of PROMAX. The DTTV headend is continuously re-tuning in order to offer the channels requested by the various media, which utilise the Westminster Live facilities. This process is carried out swiftly, via Ethernet / Internet, from the control room or any other location.

Digital Terrestrial Television coverage for rural areas in Euskadi

ITELAZPI, the company that broadcast radio and televisión in Euskadi, has selected PROMAX equipment for the coverage of DTT in rural areas. In this case, the Digital To TV is used as a regenerative unit, for the coverage of small communities. Traditionally, to cover this type of sites, it was common to use repeaters. In this article we describe the topology of the installation in one of the regenerative centers in the Little town of Azazeta (Alava).

PROMAX launches the first worldwide field meter ready for DVB-T2

The PROMAX TV EXPLORER family reaffirms its leadership taking a new step forward with the TV EXPLORER HD+, the only portable meter ready for the new digital terrestrial television standard for second generation (DVB-T2) and approved by Dolby Laboratories to decode Dolby Digital Plus.

TV Explorer HD+ selected by Finnish DVB-T2 operator

The new TV EXPLORER HD+ Analyser, developed by PROMAX, has been selected by the Finnish operator, Anvia Oy, as a reference instrument to drive the deployment of one of the first DVB-T2 commercial networks in the world.
