PROMAX collaborates in the European project COCONUT

In the R&D&I laboratory of PROMAX, a wide range of fibre optic equipment is developed: optical spectrum analysers, fusion splicers, optical power meters, optical attenuators, laser sources, RF-optical converters, etc. The extensive experience in the development of this equipment has been one of the characteristics by which the European Union has relied on PROMAX to participate in the research project COCONUT.

The PROMAX mobile app connects you to the Hybrid Television

There are new distribution platforms where the Internet is a way more for distributing content, which is finally played on a TV screen: interactive TV, hybrid TV, HbbTV, DVB-T Hybrid, Smart TV, etc. To verify the Wi-Fi signal under the specific case of Hybrid Television, PROMAX has developed for installers the free application “Hybrid TV WIFI test” forAndroid and iOS mobile phones and tablets.

PROMAX committed to train its users

PROMAX provides training courses to its customers. It is very important that the installer knows in depth his field strength meter, so he can make the most of its capabilities, as very often some functions are unknown for the installer, when they could be very useful in day to day. The last course was held in early October in Tampere, Finland. The course consisted of a training day dedicated to the field strength meters models TV EXPLORER HD+ and the HD RANGER+ equipment, organized by our distributor in Finland, ANVIA TV.

IBC 2013 exhibition: Conclusions and new technologies

One more year, the figures of IBC are increasing and this year we can say that it was also noted in our stand. Amongst the visitors to our stand, the most wanted product was undoubtedly the new field strength meter HD RANGER 2: Its touch-screen, but especially its capability to combine three different worlds, radiofrequency, optical and IP, into one single equipment attracted the interest of many of our followers.

RDI and PROMAX announce new strategic parternship

This new two year strategic partnership will see PROMAX and RDI work together with its very latest test equipment and will support RDI in its continued work with at800 as 4G masts continue to be activated throughout the UK. Part of the partnership will see the RDI using the PROMAX HD RANGER+ meter to support training and audit work for installers and auditors across the UK.

PROMAX equipment ready for the digital dividend

In 2007, the World Radiocommunication Conference agreed to assign the band between 790 and 862 MHz to use it in communication services by mobile broadband in the European area. Since then, this frequency band it is known as “digital dividend”. The HD RANGER+ field strength meter is the tool that complements the work of the installer to make adjustments because of the digital dividend.

The last contribution of PROMAX to the world of telecommunications in cruises has been the acquisition of the HD RANGER+ field strength meter by the company ESS Hanika for its use on the cruise AIDAcara. PROMAX equipment has been used several times in cruise facilities.

Drive test GPS option for HD RANGER+ field strength meters

Adding this option to the HD RANGER+ makes it ideal to perform "drive test" signal coverage analysis being able to record different types of measurements and adding information about the time they are recorded and GPS location coordinates.
