COMPACT MAX: The reliable and economical solution to watch satellite TV via DTT

In those buildings where several signal types are received (Satellite, Terrerstrial, Cable, Encoded) headend modules are expensive and complex. PROMAX had designed the CompactMax transmodulator that converts Satellite TV to DTT in a quick and cost-efficient way. Satellite channels are delivered in DTT format and there is no need of Satellite TV decoders or additional wiring.

Managing T2-MI signals with the HD RANGER 2 field strength meters

T2-MI is exclusively used in the link between the T2 Gateway output and the DVB-T2 modulators input, and transported via either TS-ASI or IP. The HD RANGER 2 field strength meters will allow the T2-MI reception through its TS-ASI, RF or IP (multicast) input, letting the user record the T2-MI signal into a file and play out that file containing the recorded T2-MI through the meter's TS-ASI output.

Measuring the electric field strength with the HD RANGER analyser

The tool "Field Strength Meter" or “FSM” measures the electric field strength of signals in the radio spectrum bands supported by the HD RANGER. Use this tool to detect electromagnetic interference caused by poorly shielded satellite installations or faulty LNB.

HD RANGER: field strength meter supporting EWBS

The EWBS signal (Emergency Warning Broadcast System) is a system for warning and information that is implemented in analogue and digital broadcasting. In an emergency, devices compatible with this system automatically turn on and emit an audible warning. With an HD RANGER field strength meter EWBS signal can be checked.

IPTV test and measurement with the HD RANGER 2

The HD RANGER 2 field strength meter provides measurements to understand, identify and fix the new problems that are emerging in multicast television networks over IP (IPTV), which are widely used in hotels and other large television networks. The metric of quality parameters in IPTV at the last stage of transmission is of great help during installation and maintenance of these networks.

Sometimes it is difficult to find out the source of a signal interference because it only appears at certain times of the day when may be impossible to take measurements. In these cases it is useful to schedule the field strength meter to auto-power on, take measurements or screenshots and store them in its internal memory.

Signal coverage GPS option

Adding this option to the HD RANGER field strength meters can record different types of measurements and add information about the time they are recorded and GPS location coordinates. The data can be overlayed on 3D a map using Google Earth.

HD RANGER 2 : Transport Stream Recording in the new update

The new software update for the HD RANGER 2 field strength meter (release 15) includes the Transport Stream Recording. This tool records real-time transport stream received by any of its inputs. Then, the recording can be played on the field meter as if it was a live signal.
