How to analyze FM radio and DAB/DAB+ digital radio channels

Using PROMAX signal analyzers you can readily tune an FM channel, analyze its measurements and decode the audio:

  • Move the cursor to the desired frequency.
  • Your meter automatically identifies the FM radio channel or the DAB digital radio multiplex.
  • Now you can measure and decode the FM, DAB or DAB+ radio broadcasting.

So, what can I do if my PROMAX analyzer has no digital DAB radio?

PROMAX signal analyzers integrate DAB analyzer either factory built or optionally (according to model):

  • The essential DAB/DAB+ functions are optional for the models RANGER Neo+ and 2...
  • ... being factory built in the 3 and 4 models. For the latter two models, the advanced DAB/DAB+ analysys functions are available as an option.

However, you can take power and C/N measurements even if you lack the DAB decoder by using the "GENERIC" decoder and manually setting the DAB channel bandwidth (1536 kHz).
